These were written early on in the series and I don't recall details of the plot, but I did save some longish quotes. Anyone know the stories these are from?
Story 1:
The three year anniversary consisted of a small toast and snacks in the late
evening. There were much fewer people than the mission had begin with. They
drunk to absent friends and the hope of returning home one day; of defeating
the Wraith. of continuing their discoveries in the city of the Ancients.
In the middle of the fourth year, a virus swept through Atlantis, only affecting
those with the Ancients gene. They all knew about the illness that had afflicted
the Ancients and those with the virus found themselves giving up hope of
returning home. Some of them were right to do so.
There was no celebratory drink for entering the fifth year of residence. A Wraith
ship had come and Atlantis bore the brunt of it. Atlantis was a city of wounded
and recovering.
Story 2:
Elizabeth has done a good job. His only caller is Carson, regular as clockwork on
two-hour intervals. On his last visit, the doctor had been sporting - unbelievably -
a kilt.
"You're really going to wear that to the party? I don't remember anyone
mentioning that it was fancy dress..."
"And there I was, about to tell you how nicely you're healing up. You have no
eye for aesthetics, Rodney," and at this point Beckett had actually twirled on the
spot. "These things, as any good Scot could tell you, are one hundred per cent
certified babe magnets!"
"With legs like yours sticking out of them? It's a good thing you're high on life,
Carson."
"Mock on. I'll have that pretty wee cousin of Teyla's mesmerised by the contents
of my sporran before the night is old!"
"I should think Kavanagh's more likely to score with his ersatz mistletoe."
(apologies for not using lj-cuts, it's been ages since I last tried to use them and it doesn't seem to work that way anymore)
